Updates from Modern Woodmen’s 2021 fraternal campaign

2020 was full of challenges. Our members are making 2021 wonderful!

Modern Woodmen’s 2021derful campaign is a nationwide community-support initiative that highlights a different group each quarter:

  • In March, thanking essential workers with recognition yard signs and other items.
  • In May and June, recognizing educators and school staff with drive-thru appreciation events.
  • In September, honoring first responders and military members with acts of kindness for the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
  • In December, helping families in need by supporting food banks.

December highlights

In December, Modern Woodmen members helped local food banks by coordinating community food drives. In total, nearly 500 food drive events were held throughout the United States.

September highlights

In September, Modern Woodmen members observed the 20th anniversary of 9/11 by honoring first responders and military members through events and acts of kindness campaigns. In total, 650 events and activities were held to support local EMTs, firefighters, police officers, active military members and veterans.

Wilmington Police and Fire Departments, Clinton County Sherriff’s Office, Clinton-Highland Joint Fire District and New Vienna Police Department (Wilmington and Clarksville, Ohio)

Nampa Police Department (Nampa, Idaho)

Augusta Fire Department (Augusta, Maine)



May and June highlights

In May and June, Modern Woodmen members recognized educators and school staff in a number of ways, like holding drive-thru appreciation events, donating treats and meals, helping them stock their classrooms and more. In total, 827 events and activities were held to support those in education, and $175,982 fraternal dollars were spent to recognize and thank school staff.

March highlights

In March, Modern Woodmen members across the country showed appreciation for the essential workers in their community. In total, 14,628 “We love essential workers” yard signs were distributed, and 10,000 Everyday Hero pins were awarded.
