Modern Woodmen of America, Rock Island, Illinois, appointed David Nuernberger, Bettendorf, Iowa, to its board of directors, effective March 1. Nuernberger fills the board position vacated by David B. Emrick, Davenport, Iowa, who has retired.
Emrick served Modern Woodmen and its members since his appointment in October 2009.
Nuernberger’s experience in financial planning and management, strategic planning, critical thinking, and communication will help the fraternal financial services organization continue to serve members across the U.S.
A graduate of the University of Illinois and a certified public accountant, Nuernberger has been a partner with Deloitte since 1994, most recently as tax managing partner in Denver, Colorado. He has held positions of increasing leadership responsibilities over a 37-year career with the firm. He moderated numerous strategic planning retreats for clients and earned Outstanding Instructor awards for leading various firm training sessions.
Nuernberger has also served the Quad Cities area through many community boards, including roles with United Way, Genesis Foundation, Quad City Community Foundation, Bethany Homes, Quad City Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement and more. He was also chairman of the 2007 John Deere Classic golf tournament on the PGA Tour.
