Who we are
Modern Woodmen of America was founded in 1883 during the pioneer days, and we’ve championed families with the same resilience and commitment ever since. We’re a member-owned organization, serving nearly 700,000 members with a focus on people over profits.
But we’re more than a financial services provider — we’re a fraternal organization built on a culture of helping people and fostering meaningful relationships. That’s why we empower our members, and representatives, to make a difference by building one-on-one connections through social, educational and volunteer events in their communities.

Testimonials
Financial representative
“Modern Woodmen has afforded me the opportunity to be a contributor to my community and have an impact on my clients while preparing me and my husband for a retirement we never dared dream of. The work has been anything but easy, yet it’s been the biggest professional blessing of my life.”
- Barbara Coats, Starkville
Managing partner
“When I spoke with Regional Director Jonathan Marsh, I told him I needed to accomplish three things if I work with Modern Woodmen: provide an income for my family, spend more time with family, and make an impact in my community. Modern Woodmen has allowed me to do all three! I’m able to help my members do the same by protecting and growing their assets!”
- Ron Bradley, Tupelo
Financial representative
“I love helping people, and Modern Woodmen is an organization that allows me to do that by working with families and individuals on their financial planning, and by giving back to them and the community through fraternalism! It brings me joy to see what a positive impact I can have by doing something I love to do anyway!”
- Martha Ann Welch, Starkville
