I’m from … Davenport, Iowa. I grew up in the small town of Wheatland, Iowa (population 800 people).
My family includes … my husband, Chadd, my daughter, Kendall, our black lab, Kabela, and Odie, the tabby cat I adopted from a fellow Modern Woodmen home office employee.
On the weekend, I … am either attending Kendall’s sporting events (usually soccer tournaments) or entertaining a house full of her friends at sleepovers. My husband and I joke that it’s Kendall’s world, we just live in it!
In a nutshell, my job is to … provide assistance to Modern Woodmen financial representatives across the country. As a marketing analyst, I help representatives promote themselves in their communities through advertising and sponsorships. I work closely with our co-op advertising program, which reimburses representatives for a portion of their advertising costs. Every day is different, and I enjoy that the most about my job.
What Modern Woodmen means to me … I’m proud to be part of Modern Woodmen! I’ve made lifelong friends with the people I work with. I learn something new every day from my Marketing team. We support each other and have each other’s backs.
Since we’re a fraternal organization, the home office is always giving me the opportunity to serve the community – from winter coat drives for a local school to food collections for a homeless shelter. This is a good feeling. Also, it’s nice to know I’m part of an organization that values its employees and treats us well. (And our view is amazing. We take pride in everything we do!)
I feel really good about my job when … I hear success stories from representatives I’ve helped. It’s a nice feeling knowing I’m helping people grow their businesses. I also volunteer as an assistant Modern Woodmen youth service club leader. It’s very rewarding when we can present a check to an organization in need through a fundraiser we’ve supported or when we deliver donated items to our local animal shelter.
