Kobi’s story
Kobi, a Modern Woodmen member from Ormond Beach, Florida, is an attorney who practices elder law at her own firm. Her husband, Elis, teaches English to Spanish-speaking elementary school students. With two young kids, the family is always on the go.
Financial help
Before they met Modern Woodmen representative Gerry Corrigan in 2010, Kobi and Elis didn’t have a financial plan. Since that time, Gerry has helped them address a variety of financial needs, with the help of a variety of products – life insurance, Roth IRAs, mutual funds and college savings plans. When Kobi bought her law firm, Gerry also helped set up retirement plans for the company.
“Everything we have is with Modern Woodmen,” says Kobi. “Gerry has been instrumental in helping us figure out what we need and can afford.”
Fraternal plus
Kobi likes the fraternal “giving back” side of Modern Woodmen too. Her family has access to a variety of member benefits, from chapter activities to college scholarship opportunities. Her daughters love the birthday books they receive each year through the 100 Percent Modern Woodmen Family Benefit.
“It’s a nice gesture,” Kobi says. “You just don’t expect financial companies to go that far, to care that much.”
