This year marks the 15th anniversary of 9/11. Modern Woodmen’s Be an Everyday Hero project remembers and honors those lost … and recognizes the brave first responders, military members and others who continue to serve our community every day.

Upcoming events:

Sunday, Sept. 11, 2 p.m. - evening

Modern Woodmen’s Salute to Heroes

Downtown Rock Island, Illinois / Centennial Bridge / Modern Woodmen Park, Davenport, Iowa

Gather along our route to honor local first responders and military members on the 15th anniversary of 9/11. This patriotic march will start in Rock Island and cross the Centennial Bridge into Davenport. After the march, join us for a special community event at Modern Woodmen Park, featuring safety awareness demonstrations, hero recognitions and family-friendly activities.

Traveling 9/11 museum stops in the QC


(WHBF, Ill.) – The 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Memorial Exhibit travels across the country reminding and teaching communities about the tragic attack that killed thousands 15 years ago. It got a big welcome in the Quad Cities. Dozens of local first responders lead the way as the Exhibit arrived at its temporary home next to the Modern Woodmen of America Building in Rock Island.

(WVIK, Ill.) – The "9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit" comes to the Quad Cities this week. The 53-foot tractor-trailer includes artifacts and videos, with tours led by firefighters from New York City.
